Hopes of Spring

Flower Crowns, Tea Cups
and a little taste of the Orient.

Oh where to start? It has been such a long time since our last post but in our defense we have been busy busy bees!! We eventually pulled ourselves together prompted by the opportunity to make beautiful flower crowns under the watchful eye of the patient Lisa from Floral Menagerie.

This led us to seeking inspiration for this post from our all time favourite Louise Brooks, deco fairies and of course the fabulous Dolly Sisters.

We had a sneeky afternoon at Jane M's old Arts and Crafts flat which provided the perfect backdrop for our springtime photos.

We took the opportunity to wear some of our silk 20's dresses that rarely see the light of day due to the unpredictable and extremely chilly Scottish weather!!

We had fun planning and setting up each photographic image with military style precision!
You can imagine our horror when we realized the tripod that we ( Jane J) hastily packed turned out to be a microphone stand!! (oooopps)
Exit tripod and enter banana! Yes we carefully balanced the camera with a banana and to our happy surprise it worked!! Well at least we think so, you can judge for yourselves by looking at the results.

A lovely afternoon of escapism was food for our souls.

Spring and Summer are taking way too long to arrive so ethereal colours, beautiful flowers, fans and parasols brightened up our day and made us feel like spring had arrived albeit only briefly. It was enough to gently spur us on.

We hope you enjoy this post and photographs.
We won't be gone too long as already we have lots of ideas for our next post so watch this space.
